The Noise Witch is an artist and InterSex icon. They create immersive and experiential art that explores questions around identity, spirituality, and the natural world. From performance to digitally enhanced artwork, they use a combination of mediums in their work to evoke curiosity, emotion, and playfulness from viewers. They draw inspiration from Filipino culture, precolonial history, and pop culture - as well as their personal experiences as a gender-expansive person - to create art from a decolonial perspective.

Land Acknowledgement and Commitment to Decolonization

I am currently a second-generation immigrant/ settler living in Tkaronto; the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. Tkaronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaty signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands. The unceded land colonially known as Canada, is now home to many displaced transnational indigenous communities, including queer, trans, and gender-expansive people. While we strive to build a more equitable and just world, it is important to acknowledge the complexities of this work and commit ourselves to a path of continuous learning.
